Hunting season for turkey in SC

Turkey Hunting Season in South Carolina

Are you an outdoors enthusiast? So are we! South Carolina is known for good turkey hunting, and we wanted to share some of the general rules and regulations for this upcoming 2023 season.

From April 1-May 10, turkey hunting is permitted on private lands in game zone one and two. Private lands in game zone three and four offer hunting from March 22-April 30.

Wildlife management area (WMA) lands statewide make turkey hunting available from April 1-29. Some WMAs may be more restrictive, so be sure to check eregulations.com for specific details.

A limit refers to the number of species you can harvest. For residents, three gobblers are allowed per season, with no more than one per day. From April 1-10 on private land and WMAs in game zones one and two, no more than one is permitted. Additionally, from March 22-31 on private land in game zones three and four, the limit is one.

For nonresidents, the season limit is two gobblers, with no more than one per day, otherwise following the same rules for residents.

Happy hunting!
